‘Pleasure Won’t Please’ is the standout track from the new Florence Rose EP. It’s an alt-pop banger that revolves around its playful, cat-and-mouse call-and-response melodies, which intertwine and complement each other. Initially conceived as a duet, Rose decided it would make more of an impact if she played both characters. Musically, it’s a spaced-out cut with a subtle, soulful, funky groove courtesy of the tight drums and wah guitar. She explains: “Full of desire and longing, my favourite lines are the call and response section ‘desire for you it lies within me, (I find you sleeping in and then I) crawl to you on hands and knees’.
